We are now looking for an experienced interim manager for the Street and Park unit in a municipality responsible for the operation, management, and development of public land.

The unit is responsible for the management of outdoor environments, road maintenance, and park and nature management. The focus of this assignment is to manage the municipality's operation of public spaces, which is handled by contractors and includes everything from roads, parks, and natural areas to bridges and lighting.

The operations are broad and complex, with issues spanning technical operations, winter road maintenance, nature conservation, climate adaptation, contracts, and citizen dialogue.

As an interim unit manager, you will have the overall responsibility for leading, stabilizing, and developing the unit's operations during a limited period. Your focus will be to:

• Ensure daily management of operations, staff, and finances

• Provide leadership and support to team leaders in operational and strategic work

• Maintain quality, operational reliability, and progress in ongoing projects and contract areas

• Drive efficiency, structure, and follow-up within the unit

• Support the organization's management in overall development work

• Ensure good cost control, procurement, and contract follow-up

• Collaborate closely with other units and elected officials through clear documentation and communication

As an interim manager, you will be a stabilizing force who can quickly understand the situation, address operational needs, and simultaneously contribute to the unit's continued high-quality delivery.

To succeed in this assignment, we see that you have:

• Several years of managerial experience including budget responsibility, personnel responsibility, etc., preferably from municipal or politically governed operations

• Solid experience in the operation and management of public land or municipal technical facilities

• Familiarity with contract law, procurement, and contract management

• Excellent ability to communicate and create structure

• Academic background in a relevant field

As a person, you are confident, communicative, solution-oriented, and accustomed to quickly adapting to new organizations. You have a coaching and operational leadership style and thrive in the role of both stabilizer and developer.

This is a consulting assignment via Jurek for our client. The assignment is full-time and is expected to start as soon as possible and last for about 3 months, with the possibility of extension. You are expected to work on-site with our client, located north of Stockholm.
